2 Arrested for joining spy activities related to Pak officer in Delhi




Chandigarh:

The Punjab Police on Sunday said that it had arrested two persons, including a woman, including a woman in detective activities related to a Pakistani officer posted in the High Commission in Delhi.

Based on reliable intelligence, a suspect was arrested for leaking sensitive information to a suspect to a suspect to Pakistan-based handler, said Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav.

Those arrested have been identified as 31 -year -old Gujala and Yameen Mohammed, who are residents of Malkotla. Police teams have also recovered two mobile phones from their possession, Yadav said.

Police said that the accused officer has also been identified and named in the FIR.

The Amritsar Rural Police developed a few days after the arrest of two persons – Palakshmi Masih and Suraj Masih – which was for the Pakistan’s intelligence agency for the sensitive information of the army cantonment areas and airports and their alleged role in leaking photographs.

Yadav said that the accused was receiving payment through online transactions in exchange for sharing classified information.

The official said he was in constant touch with the handler and was involved in giving funds to other local operatives as per his instructions.

Police said that this operation is an important step in eliminating cross-border detective networks and confirming our commitment to national security.

He said that further investigation would be done as per the established protocol, with the detection of the financial trail and focusing on the identification of additional operators and linkage within the network.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Malkotla, Gagan Ajit Singh said that while acting on reliable intelligence, accused Gujala was arrested for leaking sensitive information about the movements of the Indian Army.

Based on the revelations made by him during interrogation, another drain, known as Yameen Mohammed, was also identified and taken into custody, he said.

During interrogation, Gujala admitted to sharing confidential information about the activities of the Indian Army with an officer posted at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, Yadav said.

He said that Gujala further revealed that she was doing it in exchange for money and the accused officer sent her Rs 30,000 in two transactions -“Rs 10,000 and Rs 20,000 -” through UPI (Integrated Payment Interface).

A case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Indian Joint Code (BNS) and the relevant sections of the official Gupta Act at Police Station City -1 Malkotla.
