25 dead in two Mexican bus accidents




Mexico City:

Officials said at least 25 people were killed in two separate bus accidents in Mexico on Monday.

In the north of the country, 14 people were killed in a fierce collision between a tractor-trailer and a bus carrying passengers from Texas in the US, said by civil security officials in the state of Durango.

Of the 24 people traveling in the bus, only 10 managed to survive, said this.

Officials said in Southern Mexico, a bus turned with a highway in the Oxaca state, killing 11 people.

The Oxaca state government said in a statement that twelve others were rushed to the hospital with injuries, two of them were in critical condition.

Officials will start investigating the cause of the accident, which happened to the community of Santo Domingo Naro.

Malignant road accidents are common in Mexico due to high speed, poor vehicle or road conditions and driver fatigue.
