Chhattisgarh Goncha Mahaparv: On the 21st day of Goncha Mahaparv celebrated in Bastar, Chhattisgarh, 56 offerings were made to Lord Jagannath Swami, Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra, and a grand aarti was organized, on this occasion a big A large number of devotees were present in the temple, in fact 56 Bhog rituals have a different importance in Goncha Mahaparva.
In this ritual, 56 different dishes prepared in Orissa and Bastar are offered to Lord Jagannath Balbhadra and Goddess Subhadra, which is the center of attraction. Orissa and Bastar have special sweets
Vivek Pandey, President of Bastar Goncha Festival Committee, said that according to tradition, the Goncha festival celebrated in Bastar is celebrated on the 21st day at Janakpuri in Sirasar Bhawan. After the puja, 56 offerings are made to Jagat Swami. He told that a large number of devotees arrive to participate in the ritual of 56 Bhog and receive the Prasad. In Chappan Bhog, especially pulses, rice, vegetables, fruits, Chilla, Sira, Paan, Sikhran, Shuli, Kheer along with different types of sweets are offered, the special thing in this is that only Bastar Not only this, different types of sweets are also offered to God in Orissa.
Bada Goncha festival will be celebrated on 15th July
The courtyard of the temple is decorated with 56 Bhog and after which Maha Aarti is organized, in the ritual of 56 Bhog, different types of things are performed. Sweets are the center of special attraction. After which it is distributed to all the devotees in the form of Prasad, after the Chhappan Bhog ritual, the big Goncha festival will be celebrated on the coming 15th July. In this, once again the idols of the three Gods will be mounted in a giant chariot and taken out for a parikrama in the city.
56 types of offerings are the center of attraction It is important that Lord Jagannath is considered to be the incarnation of Lord Krishna. 56 offerings are seen to be associated with Lord Krishna’s act of carrying the Govardhan mountain. 56 types of dishes are served in the offering of 56 Bhog to Lord Jagannath Swami, which is called Chhappan Bhog. Among the 56 offerings to Lord Jagannath, they start with Rasgulla, go through curd, rice, puri, papad etc. and end with cardamom.
