In a record-break campaign, about 80,000 kg of intoxicants seized last year from seven districts of Madhya Pradesh were destroyed in a cement factory in Neemuch district. A huge amount of drugs including opium, smack, MDMA, Ganja, Hashish and other substances were seized in 456 cases from police stations in Ujjain, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Ratlam, Agar-Malwa, Dewas and Shajapur districts.

22 trucks filled with drugs seized on Thursday morning reached Neemuch Cement Factory. After a careful planned operation, the process of burning the narcotics started at 7 am and continued till 11 pm. The drugs were burnt in the furnace of the cement factory at a high temperature of 1400 ° C, ensuring their complete destruction.

SP Ankit Jaiswal highlighted the importance of operation in the state fight against drugs, saying, “It is a record in itself to destroy such a large amount of drugs at the same place at the same time.”

The entire process was conducted under the care and approval of the scientists of the Pollution Control Board. Remandable, not a single particle of smoke came out of convenience, and the operation followed strict safety and environmental standards.

Scientist Harishankar Sharma involved in this process said, “A committee under the DIG of the Pollution Control Board as well as the DIG of Ujjain and Ratlam range monitored the campaign to control harmful gases.”

The intoxicants consisted of 10 different types of substances, including 168 kg of opium. Interestingly, the heat generated during consumed was used by the factory as a “green fuel” to strengthen its production processes, which reduced the coal requirement.

SP Ankit Jaiswal said, “To maintain the operation of the factory for hours, the calorie value of coal, the calorie value of drugs was used as a raw material.”

More than 200 police personnel were deployed to ensure the safety of the operation, which successfully destroyed drugs worth about ₹ 8600 crore in the international market.

This milestone operation is part of the government’s acute action on drug trafficking, according to the instructions of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav.
