World Book Fair 2025: All about the 9-day mega event in Delhi – CNBC TV18

The national capital will host the World Book Fair 2025, which will be a grand event of celebration and will attract readers, writers and publishers from across the world. The New Delhi World Book Fair 2025, starting on February 1, 2025, will be held at the Bharat Mandapam at Pragati Maidan, coinciding with the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.

Promising to provide an enhanced experience for book lovers, the annual event will bring a rich mix of cultural exchange and intellectual discourse.

The New Delhi World Book Fair 2025 is organized by the National Book Trust of India under the Ministry of Education. Apart from bringing various literary works including rare collections, the book fair will also have exciting attractions like Children Pavilion, Authors Corner and International Exhibitions.

World Book Fair 2025: Details

The New Delhi World Book Fair, held every year for the last 51 years, is a major calendar event in the world of publishing. This year, the events will be held from February 1 to February 9, 2025, in the newly constructed hall at Bharat Mandapam.

Organized by the National Book Trust, India under the Ministry of Education, Indian Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) remains the co-organizer/venue partner for the fair.

This year the World Book Fair will highlight the theme of ‘Republic@75’ focusing on 75 years of the country’s Constitution. It will emphasize on the vision of a stronger India and its progress in nation building to meet the vision of a developed India by 2047.

Highlights of the World Book Fair

1. Children’s Pavilion: It will offer a range of activities to promote children’s literature and reading habits such as workshops, storytelling sessions, panel discussions, competitions, quizzes, interactive sessions and more. Apart from famous writers and illustrators, teachers and children from various government and private schools will also participate in it.

2. Youth Corner: The Education Ministry has also launched a scheme called Yuva-Pradhan Mantri Yojana to mentor young writers, through which 75 selected young writers will launch their books and interact with visitors and panelists.

3. Theme Pavilion: National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, will set up a dedicated theme pavilion to showcase the theme of the book fair through creatives, graphics, installations, walls, books and artworks.

4. International Event Corner: This Corner encourages foreign exhibitors, missions, agencies and cultural centers to book a slot for various programs for children as well as adults.

Other highlights include a CEO Forum for senior executives and a Writer’s Corner. The organizing committee has also planned cultural programs on the occasion of the book fair.

The World Book Fair will run regularly from 11 am to 8 pm. Tickets will be sold here 20 more for adults Children up to 10. Visitors can purchase tickets both online and at the venue.
