Due to cold wave, schools up to class 8 in Jharkhand closed from January 7 to 13 – CNBC TV18

In response to the ongoing cold wave, the Jharkhand government has announced that schools will remain closed for students from Kindergarten to Class 8 between January 7 and 13.

The state school education and literacy department issued a notification saying closure is in force on all schools, including government, aided, minority and private institutions, due to severe cold conditions across Jharkhand.

The cold wave has intensified in some areas with temperatures falling below 6 degrees Celsius.

However, classes for students of classes 9 to 12 will continue as per schedule.

According to the department report, the weather in Jharkhand has been dry in recent times, with the lowest temperature recorded at 5.3 degrees Celsius in Khunti.
