Syed Ayaz, a researcher at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH), has published a paper in Scientific Reports that builds on an earlier first-of-its-kind study that investigated Kinetic Alfvén Waves (KAW). The outermost layer of the Sun’s atmosphere, the solar corona, is about 200 times hotter than the Sun’s surface.
