LIC MF launches Multi Asset Allocation Fund: Key things to know before investing in NFO – CNBC TV 18



LIC Mutual Fund has launched LIC MF Multi Asset Allocation Fund, an open-ended scheme that invests in equity, debt and gold. The new fund offer (NFO) opens on Friday, January 24, and will close on February 7.

Main details of the scheme

Investment Objective: To generate long-term capital appreciation by investing in a diversified portfolio of equity, debt and gold ETFs.

Minimum investment: ₹5,000 for lump sum and for SIP. 200.

Equity: 65-80%

Debt and money markets: 10-25%

Gold ETF: 10-25%

Silver ETFs and REITs/Inv: 0-10%

Strategic approach and flexibility

The fund will actively manage the allocation across equity, debt and gold based on market conditions. It will also employ hedging and arbitrage strategies to manage risk and optimize returns.

Equity will be spread across market caps, using both top-down and bottom-up approaches to identify investment opportunities.

Benchmarks and Fund Management

The scheme has been benchmarked against a mix of:

  • 65% Nifty 500 Tri
  • 25% Nifty Composite Credit Index
  • 10% of domestic gold price

The fund will be managed by Nikhil Rungta, Sumit Bhatnagar and Pratik Harish.

The fund seeks investors seeking long-term wealth creation and diversification across asset classes. Experts say an investment horizon of at least three years is recommended for risk-adjusted returns.
