Bareilly:
Officials said on Sunday that a student of 11th grade of a girl school was allegedly kept out of her class for an hour on asking for sanitary pads during the examination, causing resentment and official investigation of the case.
The incident took place on Saturday when the student started menstruation and sought help from the principal. He said that instead of assistance, he was allegedly ignored and abused.
According to the complaint lodged by the girl’s father, her daughter went to school to take the exam when she realized that her menstruation had started.
The complainant said the principal asked for a sanitary pad, he was allegedly asked to leave the classroom and was kept out for about an hour.
The father has submitted a written complaint to the District Magistrate, District School Inspector (DIOS), State Women’s Commission and Women Welfare Department.
District school inspector Devaki Nandan confirmed that the matter is being investigated and action will be taken on the basis of conclusion.
