Ms Brannigan’s fiancé found Debbie in her parked car while walking his dog. An ambulance was standing nearby.
“I immediately called my father, who was at home,” he recalled. “I told her she needed to get there quickly. At that time, we had no idea what was happening. The doctors couldn’t tell us anything, and we were left confused.
“When my father arrived, I think reality started to set in. Since his car was still parked out front, we got in it and followed the ambulance to the hospital, just three minutes away. That trip We didn’t say much during it. Looking back I think we both knew what we had to face.”
As an only child, Ms. Brannigan described her mother as her best friend.

Ms Branigan’s TikTok received 670,000 views and nearly 900 comments, many of which were from other people who had experienced losing a parent.
“Some days, I start crying, and other days, I talk to him like he’s still here, able to listen and respond,” Brannigan shared. “I miss her every moment – in big things and in small things. I often find myself wanting to tell her everything, no matter how small.”
