The SDS program had high approval rate and rapid processing time. However, with the closure of the initiative, these students will have to undergo long visa procedures.

The Canadian government said on its website, “Canada is committed to all international students to give equal and appropriate access to the application process for study permits.”

According to the website of Canada’s website, the initiative is being “being closed to strengthen the integrity of the program, address the student vulnerability and provide all students to provide the same and appropriate access to a positive educational experience along with the application process. Is.”

On November 8 at 2 pm, the applications received before ET will be processed under the scheme, while all the applications submitted after or after this will be processed under regular study permit stream.

The notice stated, “This change will not adversely affect the eligibility for those who want to apply for a study permit from the country where SDS has been offered.”

All students are required to meet Canada’s study permit application requirements to study in the country.

Dramatic policy change was announced against the background of several economic issues, including a stressful healthcare system, increase in life costs, and a housing crisis among others.
