New Delhi. Honda has announced to launch a battery swap service in India with its new electric scooter Activa E (Honda Activa E). This service will be available under Honda Motor Company Limited’s subsidiary, Honda Power Pack Energy India Limited (HEID). The battery swap service will begin in Bengaluru from February 2025, while it will be started in Delhi and Mumbai from April 2025.

Customers can use battery swap stations by registering membership on the mobile app of HEID after purchasing the vehicle.
Plan to expand in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru
HEID has planned to increase its network rapidly. By March 2026, 250 battery swap stations will be opened in Bangalore, 150 in Delhi and 100 in Mumbai. Through this expansion, the company aims to meet the increasing demand of electric vehicle users.
Features of Activa E and QC1
Honda has also introduced two new electric scooters called Activa E: and QC1. Two mobile power packs are available in Activa E: which provides a rated output of 4.2 kW and a maximum output of 6.0 kW. Its wheel-side motor is designed for strong performance.
Talking about QC1, it has a compact in-wheel motor, which gives a rated output of 1.2 kW and a maximum output of 1.8 kW. It has high-frequency LED lights and a 5-inch LCD instrument panel. This panel is capable of showing speed, battery status and other important information.

This new service of Honda will prove to be quite convenient for electric vehicle users. This technique of battery swapping will provide both time and convenience to customers, solving the problem of battery charging. This step of the company will help in giving a new direction to the Indian electric vehicle market.
