El Paso, Texas (January 30, 2025) – Researchers at Health Sciences EMRE Umuku, PhD, Associate Professor and Associate Dean for Research for Texas of Texas of El Paso, Ko Roger G. Barker has been awarded the prestigious research contribution. Awards from the American Psychological Association (APA). Award rehabilitation performs research in the field of psychology, which focuses on helping with disabilities and persons with old circumstances, improving their health, freedom and social participation.
Umuku said, “I am deeply awarded and humble for receiving the prestigious research contribution prize,” Umuku said. “I am deeply grateful to the committee and are committed to pursue research that improves the lives of citizens and veterans with old circumstances and promotes equity in health and welfare.”
UMUCU’s research focuses on rehabilitation and good for veterans dealing with old circumstances.
“My research aims to make citizens and veterans healthy, happy and rich with disabled, happy and rich through the intersection of health, psychology and employment and education,” said Umuku.
For example, A Study The UMUCU published in July 2024 found that the veterans are being correlated with the lower level of tension and depression, as well as a strong social relationships and a sense of meaning in life. In addition, UMUCU was recognized as one of the top-enlightened scientists in the world in 2023 and named APA partner in 2024 in 2023.
“Dr. UMUCU is worthy of this difference as he represents college and utep at the national level and at the forefront of his field,” said Stacey Vaigovich, Interim Dean of PhD, College of Health Sciences.
The APA Bharcar reputed research contribution award is named for Roger Garlock Barker, a social scientist who studied the relationship between humans and the natural environment.
