Finance Minister Nirmala Sitarman, who presented the Union Budget yesterday, clarified that the asset mudification scheme is not an option for disinvestment.
Talking to NDTV editor Sanjay Pugalia on Sunday, Ms. Sitarman said, “The asset is not an option to disinfect. The asset is going on and will continue. In the 2 version, we said that we said that we take back the capital of the capital back Will take 10 lakh crores in new projects.

According to Ms. Sitarman, the public sector undertaking (PSU) will help create more assets.

Ms. Sitarman on Saturday announced the launch of the second assets mudification scheme for a period of 2025-30. The objective of this scheme is to generate Rs 10 lakh crore by making the government -owned assets owned and re -establishing income in new infrastructure projects. The government will also fix the regulatory and fiscal measures to ensure the successful implementation of the scheme.
Apart from this, the government also proposed a financial outlay of Rs 1.5 lakh crore to the states for interest-free loans. With a tenure of 50 years, these loans are aimed at promoting capital expenditure and encouraging reforms in state-level infrastructure.
