New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday sought a response from the Bihar government, challenging the appointment of Parmar Ravi Manubhai, Chairman of the Public Service Commission of Bihar and sought a reaction to a clever.

A bench, including Justices PS Narasimha and Manoj Mishra, focused on the presentation of lawyer petitioner Brajesh Singh, which challenges the appointment of Manubhai as the head of the commission.

The bench, however, was important for the fact that a lawyer, who has no place or relationship for the functioning of BPSC, has filed PIL.

The bench issued a notice to the state government and the BPSC president, saying, “As a lawyer you should stay away from filing such pilots if you have no place or relationship with BPSC.”

The bench also appointed an amicus curia to pursue the pilot.

The petition challenged the appointment made on March 15, 2024, stating that it was only against the constitutional mandate of appointing with the “imperishable character”, which was the Chairman or a member of the Public Service Commissions.

According to PIL, Parmar was an accused in the alleged corruption case registered by Bihar’s Vigilance Bureau and the case was pending before a special judge in Patna.

“Thus, apparently, defendant number 2 (Parmar) is facing serious allegations of crime of corruption and forgery and such his integrity is doubtful and therefore, he should not be appointed as the President of BPSC , “The petition said.

It claimed that Parmar did not meet the basic eligibility criteria for the chairperson to be appointed to the constitutional post as he was not an individual person with an impeccable character.
