Chennai:
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam, the governing body of Tirupati temple, has taken action against 18 non-Hindu employees. All of them have been asked to transfer or opt for voluntary retirement. The board said that the decision is keeping in mind its commitment to preserve the spiritual purity of its temples and religious activities.
Orders have been issued for disciplinary action against 18 employees who have allegedly participated in non-Hindu religious activities while participating in TTD festivals and rituals.
The TTD board has recently resolved to facilitate such employees to transfer government departments or through voluntary retirement scheme.
