GST latest news: India’s e -way bills reached a record high in January – CNBC TV18

The increase in the generation of e-way bills reflects improvement in the economy. In January 2025, the e-way bills were 23.1% more a year ago, and 5.5% higher than the earlier month. The GST collection rose 12.3% to 1.96 trillion in January in January.

Two important changes in the rules effective in January. Transporters can no longer generate e-way bills for Aadhaar documents that are more than 180 days old, to prevent backdating of the invoice.

Similarly, since January 1, 2025, the total expansion period for an e-way bill was overshadowed in 360 days from the original generation date. Its purpose is to prevent uncertain expansion and transit period.
