Paytm’s Solar Battery-Powered Soundbox for Merchants Launched

Paytm Solar Soundbox has been launched by One97 Communications, which is the owner of the brand Paytm on Thursday. The merchant-focused device supports solar energy and provides a green option for standard power-operated devices. The payment solution giant said that the device is aimed at the owners and traders of small shops. The device has a dual battery system and comes with a solar panel on top. The second battery supports electricity and when the solar charge is discharged, it is provided as a backup option.

The Paytm Solar Soundbox is aimed at small traders, hawkers, cart vendors and other people in rural and remote areas and other areas that experience power shortage.

Paytm Solar Soundbox is a solar panel on top of the device that enables the device to automatically charge under sunlight. While primary battery supports solar energy, a second battery is also added which is powered by electricity. The company claimed that the solar battery could be charged in contact with 2-3 hours of sun and provides a full day of battery life.

On the other hand, electric batteries are asked to last 10 days on a charge. Soundbox also comes with Paytm QR code that can be scanned to pay the Rupay Credit Card with the Integrated Payment Interface (UPI).

Additionally, Paytm Solar Soundbox supports 4G connectivity to register payments made by customers. It also has a 3W speaker that informs the merchant about the confirmation of payment. These information can be set in any of the 11 languages ​​supported by the device.

Last year, Paytm introduced a new feature to its consumer app to download UPI statement. With this feature, users can easily generate a detailed document with records of their transaction history. The details can be downloaded with some simple steps for the entire financial year along with any date range.
