An international research cooperation led by the University of Surrey’s Nuclear Physics Group has overturned a long -standing confidence that the Lead 208 (OFPB) atomic nucleus is completely spherical. This discovery challenges the fundamental perceptions about the atomic structure and there are far -reaching implications for understanding of how the heaviest elements in the universe.
