In Telangana, the footage from inside the tunnel whose roof collapsed, when the construction work was going on, was shown that the slightly left to bypass the blocked part was stuck inside.
In the video, a rescueer was shown flashing a flashlight under the collapsed tunnel and some eight people who are stuck inside.
“Manoj, Srinivas, Dwivedi,” the rescueer said loudly.
“We can’t go beyond this, sir. The ring seems to be fine,” he said, pointing to the circular support structure of the tunnel, or “ring”.
“I can see the ring far away. Some voices are also coming,” he said.
The roof of the tunnel fell 30 hours earlier in Nagarcorn district of Telangana. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), The Army and The Singareni Colliers Co Ltd (SCCL) teams are trying to save the trapped people.
Officials said the rescue workers were 200 meters away from the point where the roof of the tunnel collapsed on Saturday. Officials said the water in the tunnel and silt is challenging the rescue operations.
Electricity supply to the tunnel has been restored, he said, they are also supplying oxygen to the trapped people.
Telangana Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, who came to the affected site to take stock of the situation, said that NDTV has been under construction for the last 20 years. It is a 44 km long tunnel and when the water supply will be on about four lakh acres on completion, Mr. Reddy said.

Two workers were injured when a part of the tunnel was being dug as part of the Srisailum Left Bank Canal (SLBC), two workers were injured. Seventy people were working inside the tunnel when the roof collapsed to three meters at the 14-km point.
While most have come out, the remaining eight are trapped. They include two engineers and two machine operators.
The NDRF team, which reached 11 km, found water and mud beyond that point. The rescuers stepped up to another 2.5 km to reach the spot.
District Collector Badwath Santosh, Nagarkarnool, said that efforts are being made to remove water and silt to proceed with the rescue team. The team was unable to take heavy equipment near the roof collapse site due to water and silt.
The trapped men are from Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir.
The ministers’ Uttam Kumar Reddy and Jupali Krishna Reddy held a meeting with officials of NDRF, army and other agencies.
The Chief Minister, a Revantha Reddy, shocked the tunnel accident, and assured that the government would expand all possible help. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Mr. Reddy on the phone on Saturday, and asked about the matter. PM Modi also assured all support from the central government.
