Maha Kumbh Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Vaibhav Krishna confirmed that 13 FIRs have been lodged against 140 social media handles which spread misleading materials. He also assured that the police made all necessary arrangements for the upcoming Maha Shivaratri festival on 26 February 2025.
“13 FIRs have been registered against 140 social media handles that share misleading materials … Today, more than one crore people have taken a holy dip,” Vaibhav Krishna told ANI.
“Full arrangement has been made for the upcoming Shivaratri festival … Efforts will be made to ensure that there is no traffic jam anywhere in the Mahakumb area. All arrangements should be easily run … no matter how big it is Ho, we are also, we are fully ready, “he said.
A large number of devotees took a holy dip at the holy Triveni Sangam on Sunday during the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj.
The information department of the Uttar Pradesh government said that by Sunday, about 8.773 million people had taken a holy dip.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that 620 million devotees visited Mahakumbe Mela in Prayagraj. Meanwhile, officials managing the Mahakumba Mela have implemented extensive crowd control measures at Ayodhya Dham railway station to ensure smooth management and safety.
A huge influx of devotees is expected during the upcoming Maha Shivaratri festival.

We have increased vigilance on the Mahakumba ‘Snin’ on Mahakam Shivaratri. Additional security has been deployed here, after which the total number of personnel deployed is more than 350. Barricading is done around. A holding area has been established. And passengers are being brought here, ”DSP Singh insisted.
He said, “We are making regular announcements for trains so that they remain aware. They are being admitted only after their train arrives on the platform. We are making sure that the passengers of the platform are not more than its capacity. There are all arrangements. ” ,
A large number of devotees continue to reach the Maha Kumbh of Prayagraj to take the holy dip. The last major bath will take place on the Maha Shivaratri scheduled for 26 February.
