Moradabad:
Officials said a militant from Hizbul Mujahideen was arrested in a joint operation by the anti -Uttar Pradesh Terrorism Squad (ATS) of Saharanpur and Katgarh Police from Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir after 17 years.
The terrorist, identified as ULFAT Hussain, was produced in court. He was also arrested along with four others in 2002 and was released in 2008, Superintendent of Police (SP) Ranvijay Singh.
Speaking to ANI, SP City said, “In a joint operation of ATS Saharanpur and Katgarh Police, a terrorist Ulfat Hussain, a terrorist belonging to Hezbul Mujahideen, was arrested from Ponch district yesterday and we made him in court today … In 2002, he was arrested along with four others and a huge quantity of detectives, explosives, explosives,
In addition, he stated that Hussain was released on remand in 2008; However, he did not appear in court despite the summons and warrant issued against him.
“He was released on remand in 2008 … summons and warrants were issued, but he never appeared in the court. He was rewarded at Rs 25,000 and a permanent warrant was issued against him for the next 50 years. Police and ATS were trying to find him, and based on the input, we arrested him.
Further investigation is going on in the case, the officer said.

Property by Nasir Rashid Bhat- A residential house in Tengpora village of Jammu and Kashmir has been attached under Section 33 (1) of the illegal activities (prevention) Act, 1947 on the orders of NIA Special Judge, Jammu.
The accused, along with other members of the banned Hezbul Mujahideen terrorist organization, was involved in the murder of the sarpanch on 11 March 2022 with the aim of spreading terror among the people.
