Police on Monday said the police on Monday that a large number of students became ill with dinner to poisoning after dinner from a college premises in Kuntalur under Hayath Nagar Police Station in Rangearddi district.
The Inspector of Hayath Nagar Police Station said, “We got this information at Narayan College last night at Narayan College in Kuntalur, allu became ill after Kurma and Chapati for dinner. But, the college management said that they are good. And we have not complained to parents and students, and if we get any complaint, we will move forward.”
Nearly half of the students eaten on Sunday night began to experience symptoms of food poisoning including persistent vomiting.
Many students began to feel unwell around midnight, requiring some therapy. There are 800 to 900 students in the college campus, and about half of them are reported to be ill.
The incident has caused panic between students and employees, and an investigation is going on to determine the cause of food poisoning.
A college student talked about the situation, “There was a frequent vomiting, and some have been ill at midnight. About half of the campus became ill. There are a total of 800 to 900 members in a campus,” the student said.
Recently, 18 students have been admitted to the hospital with food poisoning after allegedly consumed food in the premises of an institute in Mahabubnagar district in Telangana.
According to the inspector of Jadcharla police station, the incident was reported at the Vile Parle Kelwani Mandal (SVKM) Narsi Monji Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) campus in Jadcherla city of Mahbubnagar.
The official said that the student fell ill after consuming food in the campus, after which the management initially called him and treated them in the campus.
