Chennai:
In the case of Tamil Nadu’s anxiety and loss of seats about delimitation, it has been translated into its senior most leaders, who asks people to have more children. He made a similar request in a mass wedding following a request to the Chief Minister MK Stalin, his son and the state’s Deputy Chief Minister Udayidhi Stalin.
Today, after presiding over the mass wedding in Chennai, Udayanidhi Stalin asked the newlyweds to have children immediately, “But not too much”.
“We will win 200-plus seats in Tamil Nadu in the 2026 elections. I request couples who are getting married to be worried about delivery as soon as possible. Our state has first applied birth control, and because of this, we are now facing issues,” he said.
Tamil Nadu, Udayanidhi Stalin said, “Eight seats may be lost in delimitation, while those who fail to investigate the population in the northern states will get around 100 seats.”
He also urged people to “keep Tamil name for their children”, which emphasizing the importance of conservation of Tamil identity.

He said, “The situation has changed and we should say it now. We have successfully implemented family planning and now we are facing it.”
With delimitation practice before the 2029 general election, it has become a hit button issue in South India.
The fear of losing seats and hate has all been widespread compared to North India, so much that a leader of Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party, a colleague of the NDA has also asked the people of Andhra Pradesh to make more children.
Vizianagaram MP Kalisati Apala Naidu has offered Rs 50,000 to women who give birth to a third child to each women, announcing that they would personally fund it. He also announced that if he distributed to a boy, a cow would also be presented to the woman.
Last month, Union Minister Amit Shah while addressing the issue said that it would not reduce the number of seats even one by one in the southern states.
He said, “I want to assure the people of South India that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken into consideration your interest and will ensure that even a seat has not decreased. And whatever has increased, the southern states will get a reasonable part, there is no reason to doubt it,” he said, said, speaking at the opening of party offices in Coimbator, Thiruranamali.
“The Modi government has made it clear in the Lok Sabha that after delimitation, on the basis of Prof. Rata, not a single seat in any southern state will be low,” he said, accusing Mr. Stalin and his son of trying to “distract the public”.
