Google Android, leaves hundreds of employees in Pixel Group: Report – CNBC TV18

Alphabet’s Google on Thursday placed hundreds of employees in their platforms and device units, who work on Android software, pixel phones and chrome browser, the report reported on Friday told a person with direct knowledge of the situation.

The report states that Cuts follow the company’s proposals to procure January.

A Google spokesman said about the information, “Since the combination of teams of platforms and equipment last year, we have focused on becoming more effectively and operating more effectively and it involves cutting some jobs other than voluntary exit program, which we introduced in January.”

Google did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comments.

In February, Bloomberg reported that Google had cut the employees in its cloud division, stating that the cut round impressed only a few teams.

In January 2023, the alphabet announced a plan to cut 12,000 jobs, or 6% of its global workforce.
