Uttarakhand government’s announcement – Fees in colleges will not be increased even by one rupee


Dehradun. Uttarakhand government will not increase the fees of colleges by even a single rupee. This announcement was made in the meeting of the Higher Education Department chaired by Minister of State for Higher Education (Independent Charge) Dhan Singh Rawat. It was said that the fees being charged earlier will remain the same. It was also said that the fee structure will be rationalized to around 11 items instead of 31 items. In the meeting, the fees committee formed under the chairmanship of Dr. BS Bisht also presented its report.

Consideration of College Development Fund

It was said in the meeting that a meeting will be held with the parents’ association, students’ association and principals in February. In this, consideration will be given to creating a college development fund by combining several items. It will be mandatory for every college to publish annual magazine, conduct audit and organize state and national events, Great Men’s Day.

Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said that in the employment year, requisition will be sent for 225 non-teaching posts, laboratory assistant, clerical class, librarian. Before this, requisition for 877 assistant professors was sent, out of which 350 assistant professors have been received and 54 colleges have received Rs 2 to 5 crore, the university has received Rs 20 to 40 crore for books, labs, buildings, smart classes, sports material, e-commerce etc. -Library, sports grounds, establishment development and other facilities are being given for development.

Gave them money to buy books

It was said that apart from RUSA, as per the demand of the principals of other 50 degree colleges, 100 percent books have been provided in proportion to the students. One lakh rupees for colleges Amodi, Halduchaud, Agroda, Kamand, Pokhri Kweli, Pavki Devi, Margubpur, Chudiyala, Pabau, Barkot, Lambagada, Maldhan Chad, Ranikhet, Sitlakhet, Pokhra, Brahmakhal, Talla Salt, Garud, Mansi, Devprayag, Chandrabadni, Gairsain, Nandasain, Paukhal, Khanpur, Vedikhal, Muani, Ghat, Vetalghat, Kichha, Agastmuni, Vithyani and Mahavidyalaya Pati have been given for books.

Similarly, Rs 1.50 lakh has been given to colleges Raipur, Mangalore, Patlot, Joshimath, Laksar and College Banvasa for the purchase of books. Rs 2 lakh has been given to the college New Tehri for books. Rs 2.50 lakh has been given to colleges Jaiti, Karnaprayag, Khatima, Jakholi, Lambgaon for purchasing books and Rs 2.60 lakh has been given to Sitarganj College for purchasing books. Rs 3.50 lakh has been given to College Kotdwar Bhabar for books.

Building every college by 2020

It was said in the meeting that by 2022, every college building will be constructed and by 2020, 100 percent every college will be connected to the book donation campaign.

In the meeting, Director of Higher Education Professor NP Maheshwari, Additional Director of Higher Education Rachana Nautiyal and DC Goswami, Joint Director of Higher Education Kumkum Rautela, RUSA advisors Professor MS Rawat and Professor KD Purohit, Fee Committee Chairman Dr. BS Bisht, Fee Committee Member Principal Dr. BN Sharma were present.
