Brazilian judge is on tour to India. The CJI welcomed him to the Supreme Court.Brazilian judges became part of the CJI’s bench.

New Delhi. Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud on Thursday welcomed Brazilian judge Antonio Herman Benjamin to the Supreme Court. He described Brazil as a “good friend of India”. Justice Benjamin has come to visit India. He shared the stage with the CJI and two other judges of the Supreme Court. During this time he observed the judicial processes of India. Justice Benjamin is set to become the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Brazil in July itself.

Introducing him to the lawyers and litigants present in the court room, the CJI said, “He is a good friend of India… He is soon going to take charge as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Brazil on July 22.” We are happy that he is present with us. Chief Justice Chandrachud said that Justice Benjamin is a distinguished scholar who has done a lot of work in the field of environmental protection. During his visit to India, Justice Benjamin also visited Jammu and Kashmir.
