The Technical Appraisal Committee of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has approved the proposal to increase 803 seats in postgraduate (PG) courses in 5 Government Medical Colleges of Madhya Pradesh. Rs 521 crore 74 lakh 45 thousand will be spent on increasing these seats. Whereas 60 percent of this expenditure will be borne by the Central Government and 40 percent by Kamal Nath Government.

With the approval from the Central Government, the state’s Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College, Jabalpur, 85, Shyam Shah Medical College, Rewa, 88, Gajraraja Medical College, Gwalior, 91, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College, Indore, 169, Bundelkhand Medical College, Sagar, 85 and Gandhi Medical College, 285 seats will be increased in College Bhopal.

Principal Secretary Medical Education Shivshekhar Shukla said that the proposal to increase seats in 17 PG courses in the second phase for the Government Medical College of Jabalpur has been approved. With this, five, two, three and ten seats of Bio Chemistry, Micro Biology, Forensic Medicine, Emergency Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine (DM) will increase respectively. Along with this, in the second phase, two each in Pathology, Psychiatric, Radio Diagnosis, 6 in Pharmacology, 4 in Ophthalmology, one in ENT, 18 in General Medicine, 8 in General Surgery, 7 in Orthopedics, 5 in Radiation Oncology, 5 in Respiratory There will be an increase of 5 and 3 seats in Neuro Surgery, the estimated expenditure of which is approximately Rs 93 crore.
Rewa’s college will benefit from this
In the Government Shyam Shah Medical College, Rewa, there will be an increase of 3 seats each in Bio-Chemistry and Forensic Medicine, 4 seats in Otorhinolaryngology, 4 seats in Radio Diagnosis and 2 seats in Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy. Also 4 of Anatomy, 5 of Physiology, 8 of Pathology, 3 of Pharmacology, 4 of Community Medicine, 4 of Ophthalmology, 8 of General Medicine, 6 of General Surgery, 7 of Orthopedics, 5 of Gynecology, 3 of Pediatrics, Anesthesiology. 14 more seats will be increased in Psychiatry, on which an amount of Rs 77.17 crore will be spent.
This change will happen in Gwalior College
In Government Medical College, Gwalior, 8 of Anatomy, 6 of Physiology, 10 of Pathology, 7 of Micro Biology, 8 of Pharmacology, 7 of Community Medicine, 5 of Orthopedics, 11 of General Surgery, 4 of Anesthesiology, 8 of Gynecology, General There will be an increase of 10 rupees in medicine, 4 rupees in radio diagnosis and 3 rupees in paediatrics, on which approximately Rs 60 crores will be spent.
Indore, Sagar and Bhopal got so many seats
Among the seats sanctioned by the Centre, there will be an increase of 169 PG seats in Government Medical College, Indore from Rs 175 crore 63 lakh. These include 8 each of Anatomy, Physiology, Anesthesia, 10 of Bio-Chemistry, 15 of Pathology, 14 of Microbiology, 7 of Forensic Medicine, 14 of Community Medicine, 1 of Dermatology, 5 of Radio Diagnosis, 20 of Surgery and 8 of Anesthesia. , 5 seats of Orthopedics, 21 of Medicine, 6 of Psychiatry, 10 of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 5 of Transfusion Medicine and 4 seats of ENT are included.
Whereas in the Government Medical College of Sagar, 2 each of Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, Radio Diagnosis, Community Medicine, 3 each of Ophthalmology, 9 of Pathology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Pediatrics, Orthopaedics, ENT, 5 each of General Medicine and 11 seats each for General Surgery, 8 for Gynecology and 7 for Anesthesiology have been increased. More than Rs 92 crore will be spent on these.
Apart from this, an increase of about Rs 117 crore to 285 PG seats is estimated in Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal. These include 16 seats in Anatomy, 9 seats each in Physiology, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine, 10 seats each in Bio-Chemistry, Radio Diagnosis, 14 seats in Pharmacology, 20 seats in Pathology, 17 seats in Community Medicine, 24-24 seats in General Medicine and General Surgery. , 25 of Pediatrics, T.B. PG seats include 5 in Chest, 3 in Psychiatry, 17 in Orthopaedics, 5 in Otorhinolaryngology, 8 in Ophthalmology, 25 in Gynecology and 35 in Anesthesiology.
