New Delhi. Many types of reports are issued by NITI Aayog. SDG report is also one of these. In the report, ranking of all the states of the country has been decided in terms of socio-economic condition. Uttarakhand has been on top in the SDG report of NITI Aayog, while the situation of Bihar has been the worst. Meaning Bihar is at the bottom of this list. Bihar has proved to be a lagging state on every scale. NITI Aayog CEO BVR Subramaniam gave information about the SDG report.
NITI Aayog Chief Executive Officer BVR Subramaniam said that in the last ten years, 25 crore people have come out of poverty. This means that the country has become more prosperous in the last 10 years. According to the SDG report, two states need to improve to achieve SDG-1 on poverty alleviation. These include the names of Bihar and Arunachal Pradesh. The objective of preparing this report is to find out the socio-economic condition of the states, improve it and bring such states on the path of development.
Top and worst performers
CEO of NITI Aayog said that basic survival is no longer an issue. There is a need to improve malnutrition, stunting and minimum body mass index. In this year’s SDG report, the performance of states and union territories has been assessed. Uttarakhand is at the top among the 5 top performing states in the report. After this is Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Goa and Himachal Pradesh. Bihar is at the lowest position. After Bihar, Jharkhand, Nagaland, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh are among the lagging states.
What is SDG report?
In this report named SDG i.e. Sustainable Development Goals, the social, economic and environmental situation of the states and union territories is considered. A report is prepared after assessing the performance of the states in these three areas. Let us tell you that NITI Aayog has released the SDG report for the fourth time. The first SDG report was released in the year 2018.
