Karachi Terrorist Attack: An attack warning has been issued to anti-encroachment police in Karachi, Pakistan. It is being told that there may be a terrorist attack in Karachi on the day of Muharram. Karachi Deputy Superintendent of Police Tariq Islam has forbidden any policeman from going alone on official duty on the day of Muharram.
While releasing the information, Tariq Islam has said that government officials can be targeted in Karachi during Muharram. Officers have been asked to avoid wearing police vans while on duty and wearing uniform and shoes after work is over.
Deployed security forces in these areas
Before this notification, on Monday last, the government had approved the deployment of armed forces across the country to ensure security during Muharram. The government had deployed troops to maintain law and order by the authorities in Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad. The Government of Pakistan has deployed army personnel under Article 245 to ensure peace in the country.
Pakistan Home Ministry says that the deployment of the army will be based on the ground situation and the states will have the right to decide the places of deployment. Let us tell you that before this, the Punjab Government of Pakistan had asked the Home Ministry for suspension of social media platforms from 6th to 11th July during Muharram.
502 places are sensitive
According to Pakistani media reports, many measures are being taken regarding security in the country. It has been told that there are 502 such places in Pakistan which are sensitive and Army and Rangers personnel have been deployed at these places.
