A 5 -year -old boy fell in an agricultural area in Jhalawar district of Rajasthan on Sunday, 32 feet deep borewell, motivating the authorities to start a rescue operation.

According to the police, the incident took place around 1.15 pm when playing in the Pruhd Maidan. He allegedly sat on a stone slab near the borewell and slipped into it, while his parents were busy with some work on the other side of the ground.

Prahlad is currently stuck at a depth of 32 feet and is in unconscious state. The NDRF and SDRF teams are on the site.

SDM Chhatrapal Chaudhary said, “NDRF and SDRF teams are engaged in rescue work. Teams are planning to take out the boy using some local machines.”

According to the victim’s father, Kalulal, the borewell was dug two days ago. The SDM said that there was no outflow of water and they decided to close it.

He said that he was filling the borewell, so it is unlikely that the boy will slip to any deep.

He said that four JCB machines are engaged to help the boy.

A medical team is also present on the occasion. Oxygen is being supplied to the boy through pipes, DSP Jayaprash Atal said.
