A man dies due to suicide in Karnataka amid “harassment”

Police said on Monday that a 40 -year -old man allegedly died of suicide at his house due to harassment by his wife.

The incident took place in Chamundeshwari Nagar on Sunday, he said.

Petaru Golapalli, who worked in a private firm, overtook a note alleging harassment by his wife.

Initial investigation has revealed that the couple got married two years ago and started living separately after three months of marriage after a continuous quarrel. His wife has also filed for divorce and has demanded Rs 20 lakh as alimony.

Talking to reporters, the victim’s brother Ashaya said that since Sunday, everyone had gone to the church and when he returned home in the afternoon, he found his brother hanging.

In the note, Petru blamed his wife for his death and said, “Daddy, I am sorry. My wife is killing me. She wants my death”.

Looking for justice for his brother, Ashaya said that Petru was working in a private firm, but lost his job three months ago.

He said, “We want justice for our brother. The woman should be arrested. No one should suffer in the way my brother has been suffering. His elder brother also beat him And there is also a police report about it, “he said.

Based on the complaint of the victim’s brother, a case has been registered against his wife under Section 108 (for suicide) of the Joint Code, police said, further investigation is going on.

Last month, a 34 -year -old Taiki, Atul Subash, died of suicide in Bengaluru, after his wife and his family alleged harassment.
