In Amritsar, a person was seen damaging the statue of BR Ambedkar
When the country was celebrating its 76th Republic Day, in the middle of Amritsar, a person continued to attack the life -size statue of BR Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Constitution of India, with a hammer, which distorted the statue.
The person wearing a shirt and track pants used an extension ladder to climb the top, showing a video and the people around recorded the incident on their mobile phone.
It is not immediately clear what was the excitement behind such extreme acts.
The person has been arrested and the case is under investigation.
Congress Amritsar MP Gurjit Singh Aujla said, “I condemn the attack on the idol of Baba Bhim Rao Ambedkar. I request the government to take strict action against the people present behind this whole incident.”
