Pratapgarh:
Police said a 29 -year -old man had fixed himself and his partner with another person in Kohandaur area after his marriage.
He said that the woman died due to her injuries, while the male is in the hospital.
Vikas Kumar Yadav of Chandoka set fire to himself after allegedly put petrol on himself and Neelu Yadav (22) of Lulipokha Kham.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Shivnarayan Vaish said, “Initial investigation suggests that Vikas Yadav entered into an act. The two were allegedly in a relationship, but Neil Yadav’s marriage was scheduled for March 2.”
The official said, “Vikas Yadav allegedly called him to the farm and with the intention of suicide, put petrol on both before installing it. Vikas Yadav is currently unable to make a statement due to his injuries,” the officer said .
While Neil Yadav died on the spot due to severe burning, Vikas Yadav also maintained serious jealousy and was admitted to a medical college for treatment.
The scene has been inspected and a field unit has been sent to collect forensic evidence.
