In a circular issued on November 12, the Education Department of Delhi Government (DOE) said that the last date for submission of registration form is December 20, and the first general admission list will be published on 17 January 2025.
Schools listed their admission criteria on Wednesday. Major criteria listed by many schools were proximity to neighborhood, distance and schools, while girls, single girls, siblings and single parents are other criteria on the list.
Some schools have also listed criteria for Sikh and Christian minorities, economically deprived groups and physically handicapped parents.
Private schools have been instructed to reserve their 25% seats for students of EWS/DG categories and disabled children. According to the circular, different entry lists will be published for these categories.
DOE has specified the minimum and maximum age limit for admission. By 31 March 2025, children’s age should be at least three years for nursery, four years for KG and five years for class 1.
It states that the upper age limit for nursery, KG and class 1 is less than four, five and six years respectively.
The circular further mentions that parents can contact the heads of schools from January 18 to January 27, 2025 for admission related questions.
