Adult great apes show increased memory to social events

Researchers at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leapzig, Germany have investigated how social models affect memory in great monkeys. He created a tower to young and adult apes with a video of a human hand (a social model) or a mechanical claws (a non-social model). The results showed that while adult apps recalled the towers manufactured by a human hand, which was better than those built by a claw, the little apes did not.
