Assembly by-election concluded in Amarwada, Madhya Pradesh, know what percentage of voting took place

Amarwada Assembly Bye-election 2024: A total of 78.71 percent voting took place in the by-election held on Wednesday for Amarwada Assembly constituency in Madhya Pradesh. An officer gave this information. The by-election to this Scheduled Tribe-reserved seat in Chhindwara district is a prestige question for both the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the opposition Congress as Chhindwara was considered the stronghold of senior Congress leader Kamal Nath until the recent Lok Sabha elections.

Congress had won the Amarwara seat in the 2023 assembly elections, but this time BJP’s Vivek Bunty Sahu won the Chhindwara Lok Sabha seat by defeating Kamal Nath’s son Nakul Nath. Assembly by-election on this seat had become necessary after three-time Congress MLA Kamlesh Shah joined BJP on March 29 this year.

A total of nine candidates are in the fray in the by-election but the main contest is believed to be between BJP’s Kamlesh Shah and Congress’s Dheeran Shah Inwati and Gondwana Gantantra Party (GGP’s) Dev Raven Bhalawi.
