Australia has lifted travel sanctions for Assam, while Germany is in the process of modifying its advice. However, there will be a ban for four districts – Tinsukia, Charideio, Shivasagar, and Dibrugar – where the Disturbed Area Act has been implemented still due to the presence of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act or AFSPA.
“I told you earlier that Australia and Germany started reviewing their travel advice for Assam. Now, Australia has officially updated its guidelines, allowing four districts to travel across the state except four districts. Where the AFSPA remains under influence. Mr. Sarma said that the Australian High Commissioner assured that once the AFSPA is removed from these four districts, Australia would completely remove its travel advisor. Germany is expected to announce an amendment soon.
Global delegation for a visit to Assam
