The aircraft is part of the flying display at the air show. It was renamed during Aero India 2025.

The HJT-36 will serve as a stage 2 trainer for the Indian Air Force and the Indian Navy, which bridges the gap between HAL and high performance SU-30 or Tejas fighters, ensuring a spontaneous progress in pilot training.
More than 70% of its components, including airframes, avionics, and flight control systems, are produced domestic, but the aircraft Russian NPO Shani al -55i engine is powered by HAL, which is looking for options for indigenization.
