‘Azad Kashmir’, ‘Free Palestine’ Fresco

Kolkata:

‘Azad Kashmir’ and ‘Free Palestine’ frescoes were seen at one place in one place in one line, while on Monday, most classes and examinations were held in the institute according to the schedule.

The alleged entry of ‘Plancloths police personnel’ on the university campus, matches a professor associated with the ruling Trinamool Congress, who did not go down well even with a portion of students and teachers.

Protests were being held at Jadavpur University for the last few days, where two students were injured after the car of State Education Minister Batiya Basu and another vehicle allegedly grazed them in the past during a left protest on 1 March.

An FIR has been lodged against Basu and Professor and TMC leader Om Prakash Mishra in connection with the violence.

The graffiti in Black was seen on a wall near gate number three of the university, announcing the frescoes ‘Azad Kashmir’ and ‘Free Palestine’, but it was not known who was behind it or organization.

“Some ultra-left student outfits are behind it and such frescoes can be seen if someone wanders in a huge campus,” told PTI, president of the Trinumool Chhatra Parishad unit of Zoo, Roy told PTI. SFI’s Zoo Unit leader Abhinaba Basu said, “We are against the suppression of minorities in BJP ruled states, although we do not support separatist views.” He said that CPI (M) student Wing SFI has a clear stand on the issue of Palestine.

Om Prakash Mishra, a senior faculty member and activist of the TMC–Halling Forum of academics, said, “We are against any posters and frescoes that support separatist ideas.” When Mishra first entered the premises after the March 1 incident, he was congratulated by a part of students rescued with slogans like “BJP-TMC dictatorship SE Ajadi” and “Go Back”.

In another development, the SFI and AidSo activists as well as the major professor unions – Juta and Abuta claimed that around 30 police personnel in Sadekloth entered the premises on Monday at around 1 pm and reached Mishra shortly after the afternoon when the classrooms were over.

SFI leader Soriadipto Roy said that after spotting the Plaincloths policemen in the campus, there was a movement shortly after entering Mishra, and the university raised slogans demanding TMC and state administration to be free from being free from being scared, “we refuse to participate in any discussion with the university administration,” he said.

The Mishra came to the campus nine days after the protest against the campus on 1 March by the left and ultra-left students during the AGM of the Professor Association (WBCUPA) of West Bengal College and University.

Mishra was surrounded after the students’ injury on 1 March.

However, he claimed no information about the presence of the police and said that he had not informed the police about his arrival and did not require any security between his students and the fraternity in his “own university”. Juta’s general secretary Parth Pratim Roy told PTI, “We do not welcome the appearance of the police inside the campus, uniformed or plain dress. We and the students were aware of the presence of many police personnel in civil dress. As we and many senior teachers raised the issue with university officials and motivate the students to pursue the issue to further the issue, the matter did not happen, it did not matter, the matter was not there The case was not that the matter was not that the matter was not that it should not be the case. ” The students handed over the charter of demands to the university officials including survey and campus security.

“We hope classes will resume completely from tomorrow,” Roy said.

Gautam Matty, the office-guardian and senior JU member of the All Bengal University Teachers Association (Abuta), also said that there were reports about the presence of police in plain clothes inside the campus during Mishra’s presence “which was unfortunate”.

A senior university official said that the police were not invited to the premises and the authorities had no information about their presence.

“The police is present outside the premises and is cautious from March 1,” he said.
