How to apply tilak to brother?
According to astrology, if the brother is elder and the sister is younger, then Tilak of the brother should be done with the little finger i.e. the smallest finger. There is a religious belief that applying Tilak on the little finger brings happiness in the life of the brother.
At the same time, if the sister is elder and the brother is younger, then the sister should do tilak with her thumb. It is said that by applying Tilak on the thumb, the younger brother gets immense success in every task.
Brother’s tilak should not be oblique or crooked. Always apply Tilak in a straight line and during Tilak, definitely apply Akshat to the brother. Tilak is considered incomplete without Akshat.
Method of tying Rakhi:
Sister should always use thumb or little finger while tying Rakhi.
After this, take Akshat with the index finger and thumb and apply it on the brother’s forehead.
Tie 3 knots in brother’s Rakhi. It is believed that these three knots are considered symbols of Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh.
