Bhupendra Hooda said on BSP-INLD alliance, ‘There is competition between only two parties in Haryana, that is…’

Haryana Assembly Election 2024: All parties have geared up for the assembly elections in Haryana. Meanwhile, senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda has claimed that there is a contest only between Congress and BJP in the state, there is no place for vote cutters here.

Hooda was asked about the alliance between Mayawati’s party BSP and INLD (INLD). Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) has decided to join hands with Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) today (Thursday, July 11) for the Haryana Assembly elections.

Who will contest elections on how many seats?

The alliance leaders have also decided to make INLD leader Abhay Chautala their chief ministerial face. Under the seat sharing, BSP will contest on 37 out of 90 seats in Haryana while INLD will contest on the remaining seats.

At a press conference with BSP in Nayagaon on the outskirts of Chandigarh, Chautala said, “We have decided to fight the upcoming assembly elections in Haryana together.” Today, the general public has made up its mind to oust BJP from power and keep away Congress, which looted the state for the first 10 years.

Abhay Singh Chautala will be the CM face

Meanwhile, BSP national convenor Akash Anand said that if the alliance comes to power in the state, Abhay Chautala will become the Chief Minister. He said that this alliance will not be limited to contesting only assembly elections and in future we will also contest other elections in the state together.

After the announcement of the alliance, Mayawati said in a post on ‘X’ that BSP and INLD will work together to defeat the anti-people parties and form a new coalition government. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati said that there is complete consensus on the issue of seat sharing.

What happened in 2019?

INLD got one seat in the 2019 assembly elections. At the same time, BSP also failed in opening the account. In February 2019, BSP broke its nearly 9-month-old alliance with INLD. INLD was the main opposition party in Haryana at that time. This step was taken amid divisions in the Chautala family.

INLD and BSP had recently contested the Lok Sabha elections separately in Haryana and both suffered a crushing defeat.
