Patna. The long wait of the candidates who have obtained B.Ed degree in the hope of becoming teachers in the schools of Bihar is finally over. Now all such candidates should gear up and get ready for the Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test i.e. STET (Bihar STET), because BSEB has announced the date of STET exam. The exam will be taken in two shifts on January 28. The first shift exam will be held from 10 to 12.30 am and the second shift exam will be held from 2 pm to 4.30 pm. Giving information, BSEB Chairman Anand Kishore said that soon the list of center superintendents will also be prepared along with the examination centres. He told that the examination will be conducted in all the districts of the state.
Apply online from 20th to 24th December
BSEB Chairman Anand Kishore said that the attendance of all the candidates in the examination will be recorded through biometric method. Jammers will also be installed at all the centres. The board has already given relaxation of 10 years in the maximum age limit in this examination, due to which a large number of candidates who were already disappointed due to age will also be able to appear in the examination. At the same time, Computer Science candidates have also been given age relaxation of 8 years. Along with the announcement of the exam date, BSEB has also given additional opportunity to the candidates to apply. Now candidates can apply online for STET from 20th to 24th December and can also deposit the fee within this date. There will be an additional opportunity to correct errors from 25th to 26th December.

At present, around 4 lakh employed teachers are working in various schools of the state. Despite this, there is a shortage of subject wise teachers in schools. Even today, there is a huge shortage of subject wise teachers in primary to high and Plus 2 schools. However, to overcome the shortage of teachers, TET and STET pass candidates of 2012-13 have got a chance to participate in the placement process after a long wait. The reinstatement process of TET pass candidates is in the final stage, while the reinstatement process of STET candidates will also be completed soon. In such a situation, the hopes of lakhs of B.Ed candidates have been raised by the STET examination conducted again by BSEB. In Bihar, the work of opening high schools and upgrading middle schools is also being done at the government level in every panchayat. In such a situation, a large number of trained candidates may soon get a chance to become teachers.
