Finance Minister Nirmala Sitarman unveiled an important overhaul of the new tax regime in his Union Budget 2025 speech on Saturday, 1 February. In a big step to reduce tax burden on the middle class, Sitarman introduced a zero-tax slab for taxpayers, earning up to ₹ 12 lakhs per year.
