The Karnataka police on Saturday filed an FIR against former BJP MP Pratap Simha for their objectionable remarks against Muslims, commenting on the case of police station attack a few days ago.

Udayagiri Police has filed an FIR against him after a complaint of Syed Abrar, President of Youth Congress. The complaint states: “Pratap Simha has made derogatory remarks against Muslims. He has made statements, who said that Muslims are not citizens of this country. He also said that Muslims are increasing their population.”

The complainant further said that his comment would bring disagreement between Muslims and Hindus. “His comment is derogatory towards Muslims. Legal action should be taken against him,” he said.

Earlier, Pratap Simha said that Muslims should have left India during partition. He said, “Muslims remained back, did nothing and only increased their population,” he alleged.

Pratap Simha, a former MP of Mysuru-Kodagu, is known as a staunch Hindutva leader and his statements have given rise to controversies before.
