Baba Dham: In the month of Shravan, crores of Kavadiyas take Ganga water from Sultanganj in Bhagalpur and go to Deoghar in Jharkhand to perform Jalabhishek of Baba Baidyanath. To ensure smooth journey of these devotees, Deputy Chief Minister cum Road Construction Department Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha on Thursday directed the departmental officials to ensure timely and quality construction of the Kavadiya Path.
The Kachchi Kanwariya Path is 110 kilometers from Sultanganj to Deoghar, of which about 84 kilometers is inside Bihar. The Deputy Chief Minister has instructed the concerned officials that the laying of sand on this path should be completed on time for the convenience of the Kanwariyas. Besides, care should also be taken to ensure smooth travel of the devotees in the five kilometer forest area.
Bihar government alert regarding Kanwar Yatra
Vijay Kumar Sinha said that Ganga sand is spread in the width of 4.5 meters and thickness of 50 mm in Kanwariya Path. To maintain the coolness of the sand during the trek, water is regularly sprinkled throughout the route. Instructions have also been given to the concerned Chief Engineer to maintain the quality of work by conducting on-site inspection of Kanwariya Path himself.
Deoghar is one of the major religious places
The Deputy Chief Minister has said that Deoghar is an important place among the major religious places of Baba Bholenath. Shiva is the worshipable god of Indian Sanatan culture. The government is determined to provide all necessary facilities to all the devotees who go to worship Kanwariyas. Let us tell you that this year the month of Sawan is starting from 22nd July. In this month, Kavadiya goes to Deoghar, Jharkhand to visit Baba Baidyanath.
