Cyberpunk 2077 Sequel Is Now in Pre-Production With a New Name


The Cyberpank 2077 sequel has entered the pre-production phase, confirming the CD projek on Wednesday. The company also said that the game had left behind its “Project Orion” Kodename and will now be known as Cyberpank 2. This is not clear, however, if it is launched, there will be an official title of the sequel. The Cyberpank 2077 sequel was announced in 2022 and is being developed by North America Studio of CD Project Red in Boston.

Project Sirius, Multiplayer Wicher Spinoff, now has a development team of 48, while 19 employees are working on a new IP called Project Harder.

Cyberpank 2 does not have a release timeline, but it is likely to be away from the launch. The CD project is fed up about the game, but some unconfirmed details about the sequel have come to light.

This month, cyberpank manufacturer Mike Pondmith revealed that the first game in the sequel will facilitate another city besides Knight City. Pondmith, whose cyberpank tabletop RPG inspired the Settings of Cyberpank 2077, described the new city as “Chicago wrong”.

Phantom Libery sells 10 million copies

In its earnings report, CD Prosec announced that the total sales of Cyberpank 2077 Phantom Liberty expansion had crossed 10 million copies. The company said, “This result fills us with great satisfaction – especially given that a new addition is going to be included in our cyberpank portfolio – the last version of the game on June 5 will enter the new nintendo switch 2 console.”

The studio also announced that The Witch 3: Wild Hunt, which celebrated his 10th anniversary on May 19, sold over 60 million copies, which became one of the best selling sports ever.

In the first quarter of 2025, the CD Project reported a consolidated sales revenue of PLN 86 million (about 514 crore), with PLN 86 million (about Rs 195 crore) in net profit.
