Delhi government increased PUC certificate fees, know – Petrol Dealers Association expressed displeasure?

Delhi PUC Certificate Fee Hike: Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot said on Thursday that our government has increased the pollution control (PUC) certificate fee for petrol, CNG and diesel vehicles after a gap of almost 13 years. This increase is between 20 to 40 rupees. Meanwhile, Delhi Petrol Dealers Association President Nischal Singhania claimed that the increase is “impractical” to meet the operating costs.

He said the organization will hold its management committee meeting on Friday and around 500 PUC certificate issuing centers will be closed from July 15.

On the other hand, Minister Kailash Gehlot said in a statement that the fee for PUC certificate for two-wheelers and three-wheelers has been increased from Rs 60 to Rs 80 and for four-wheelers from Rs 80 to Rs 110. Gehlot said that PUC certificate fee for diesel vehicles has been increased from Rs 100 to Rs 140. He said that the new rates will become effective as soon as they are notified by the government.

He said the Delhi government is committed to maintaining the city’s air quality and ensuring that all vehicles meet the required pollution standards. Gehlot said that it was a long standing demand of ‘Delhi Petrol Dealers Association’ that the rising cost of pollution testing services should be kept in mind.

Government not serious about pollution: Singhania

Nischal Singhania, president of Delhi Petrol Dealers Association, said, “An increase of Rs 20 and Rs 30 is nothing. Operating costs have increased and it seems that the government is not serious about this issue. We had demanded that inflation should be kept in mind while increasing the fees.

“Considering the request of the association and the fact that the pollution testing rates have not been changed since 2011, the Delhi government has announced an increase in the rates for pollution testing of vehicles in Delhi,” he said. Said that this amendment is necessary to ensure that the pollution testing centers continue to function efficiently and provide quality services to the public.

The association was demanding an increase in pollution testing fees. Its representatives had met Gehlot last month and demanded revision in the rates.
