Elon Musk is manually reviewing DMs of users on X, complete silence when asked questions


New Delhi. X is manually reviewing DMs (direct messages) from certain users to investigate alleged violations and abuses of its service, or to comply with laws or government requests. An X user named Kim Dotcom posted this policy update on Monday, to which Elon Musk could not give a clear answer. This is against the policy of providing end-to-end encryption of content on the platform.

Musk replied, ‘It currently works strangely (if you keep it on). We are working on making it easier to use and implementing it on group messages as well.

He said, ‘X audio and video calls are automatically encrypted.’ Many users have expressed concern over X manually reviewing DMs. An ex user posted, ‘Is it my fault or Alan did not understand Kim’s question? Kim is concerned about reviewing DM on government request.

Earlier this information was received that ‘X’ users will now have to shell out money for livestreaming also. X had said that the livestreaming facility will soon be available only for premium subscribers.

Meaning, normal users will not be able to do livestreaming on X. At present, no information has been received about when this change will be implemented.
