For host England, opener Jack Crowley scored the highest score of 76 runs in the first innings while Joe Root was out after scoring 68 runs. Ollie Pope contributed 57 runs while Harry Brook was out after scoring 55 runs. Wicketkeeper Jamie Smith played an inning of 70 runs in 119 balls. Chris Woakes scored 23 runs. For the West Indies, Jaden Sills took the maximum of 4 wickets in the first innings, while Jason Holder and Gudakesh Moti took two wickets each.
From the West Indies side, 3 batsmen were out on zero in the first innings while Michael Lewis was the top scorer by scoring 27 runs. Ellis Athanase was out after scoring 23 runs while Cowen Hodge contributed 24 runs. Debutant Gus Atkinson took 7 wickets for England.
